A safe haven for farmers and crops – thanks to Gallagher
When Uitenhage experienced floods, Libbie Marais was faced with a problem. She needed to find new housing for her horse and donkey and although she had found a plot for them to graze, she had to somehow secure and fence it in. Thanks to Gallagher’s kindness, she was able to give her animals a brand-new home.
Libbie says the floods meant that there was no longer any safe shelter for her horse, Pax, and donkey, Chester.
Initially, she knocked on a few doors and was advised to speak to Gallagher. She sent them an email and explained her situation.
19-year-old Libbie pays for her own pet care with the money she makes from looking after dogs when their owners are away. So, she needed a good Samaritan willing to help her.
Gallagher came to her rescue and gifted Libbie with some of their Geared Polytape, Insulator Screws and rings, Multi-lead Connectors, a Smartfix Volt Finder Tester and an S20 Energizer.
Geared Polytape

“Not only are these great products, but they are also affordable since I don’t have electricity in the field,” says Libbie.
It is also very user-friendly and took Libbie only 20 minutes to set up and put everything together.
“The stuff is incredibly strong and is built for extreme conditions, I was amazed how the Energizer stayed up through the rain and my horse has already scratched his head on the devices and they are not damaged,” says Libbie.
She has already put other people on Gallagher’s path and says that she will invest in more Gallagher products in the future.
