Back then, options for quality energizers were limited, and Gallagher’s Trophy 6 Energizers stood out as the best solution. Over the years, as both companies grew, Rubis Technologies remained loyal to Gallagher. 

Solutions 

Initially focused on security solutions, Rubis Technologies has now shifted towards agricultural applications such as game fencing and animal management. They primarily use Gallagher’s i-Series Energizers, choosing larger models like the 50-joule energizers for big projects while still utilizing smaller ones for strip grazing. 

Rubis Technologies collaborates closely with Gallagher’s team in New Zealand to tailor solutions for the African market. Since Gallagher products are originally designed for New Zealand conditions, Rubis Technologies often adapts them for local needs. 

For example, their solutions integrate both Gallagher Security and Gallagher Animal Management into a single concept, offering features like alarm notifications on a client’s phone and graphical monitoring for control centres. 

Frans du Plessis, a key figure at Rubis Technologies, highlights the exceptional support they receive from Gallagher’s Animal Management team, particularly Mark Smit, Hamish, and their teams. This close collaboration has allowed Rubis Technologies to expand into new markets, especially in animal management, thanks to Gallagher’s continuous product development.

Currently, Rubis Technologies is implementing Gallagher’s latest innovation, the Satellite Gateway. Although they have faced challenges with licensing and subscription costs, they remain committed to rolling out Gallagher products across East Africa.
